Marquis Los Cabos Receives Mexico's Distinctive H Certification

LOS CABOS, Mexico, January 7, 2006. Marquis Los Cabos Beach, Golf, Spa and Casitas Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico received the Distinctive H award for high standards in food management after only two years in operation. On January 13, 2006, Ella Messerli, General Manager of Marquis Los Cabos, and Thierry Dufour, Executive Chef, were presented with the award by Lic. Alberto Trevino Angulo, Secretary of Tourism for Baja California Sur. Distinctive H is Mexico's prestigious food management program, which seeks to elevate food quality and security standards in the country. The high standards of the Distinctive H program refer to the purchase and reception of food, storage, defrosting, cooking, preservation and service. All restaurants on the property including Dos Mares, Vista Ballenas, Canto del Mar and Room Service exceeded the program's high standards.

The restaurants at Marquis Los Cabos offer diverse menus with a distinctive atmosphere. Presiding over the restaurants is Executive Chef Thierry Dufour, a five star diamond award winner, whose pedigree includes a Michelin star restaurant. Dos Mares is a poolside restaurant with an informal atmosphere specializing in seafood. Vista Ballenas serves California and Mexican cuisine for breakfast and dinner. Alfresco dining is available on the restaurant's terrace overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Canto del Mar is a 30-seat elegant restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and is open for dinner. Serving only the freshest ingredients of the day, printed menus are not found at the restaurant.
