Maurizio Romani Takes the Reins at Hotel Caesar Augustus on the Isle of Capri

CAPRI, Italy, June 21, 2005. Hotel Caesar Augustus is pleased to announce the appointment of Maurizio Romani as its new General Manager. A long-term hospitality veteran with extensive experience at luxury properties in Italy, Germany and the U.K., Romani is responsible for overseeing all operations of the newly renovated, 5-star, Romanesque retreat, which is set upon a cliff 1,000 feet above the Bay of Naples on the Isle of Capri.

"This is a great opportunity to manage a hotel that comprises so much history, while at the same time is so luxurious," said Romani of his new position. "Hotel Caesar Augustus is superbly located, offering captivating views, and we have new services, amenities and large suites to accommodate our guests. It's an exciting time to expose the hotel to discerning travelers." Romani brings close to three decades of hospitality experience to his new position, the last four of them as General Manager of luxury hotel properties in Italy including the Park Hotel Siena, (2003-2005).

Prior to that, Romani gained wide experience at an array of upscale hotels and resorts including as Deputy General Manager at Royaldemeure's Hotel D'Inghilterra in Rome (1999-2001), and Director of Project & Development at Le M'eridien's award-winning Forte Village Resort in Sardinia (1995-1999).

A native of Cagliari, Italy, Romani, 43, has studied extensively at Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and is passionate about the details that make a hotel a true experience. Besides his native tongue, he is fluent in English and French, and can converse with competence in German and Spanish as well. Romani currently resides on the Isle of Capri.
