Benchmark Appoints Bruce Clifton Director of Human Resources

HOUSTON, TX, February 17, 2006. Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Bruce Clifton as director of human resources for Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center. Brenda Weskamp, general manager for the 326-guestroom luxury resort located in Scottsdale, Arizona, made the announcement.

"It is with great pleasure that I welcome Bruce Clifton to Benchmark's Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center," said Ms. Weskamp. "An accomplished Human Resources professional, he brings over two decades of professional experience to his new position, 11 years of which are in our industry. We welcome him to the resort."

Bruce Clifton was most recently assistant director of human resources for the renowned Arizona Biltmore Resort of Phoenix, where he was responsible for property-wide employee relations, retention and advancement programs, as well as labor law and compliance.

He held the position of director of human resources for the Timberline Lodge and Ski Area of Timberline, Oregon. While at the lodge, Clifton initiated safety, training and recruiting programming and developed the supporting curricula. An educator by training, Clifton's first professional position was in elementary education.

Bruce Clifton serves on the Education Committee of the Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association and is a board member of the Hospitality Human Resources Association of Phoenix as well as the Employment Management Association of Greater Phoenix. Clifton is a graduate of Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. He holds a SPHR certification, the highest level within the Human Resources profession.
