JC Resorts Planning $20mil Renovation of San Diego Hotel
SAN DIEGO, CA, February 27, 2006. A $20-million capital improvement plan is now in place for JC Resorts' Rancho Bernardo Inn here. Renovations will focus on the expansion of services for conference and meeting attendees as well as leisure travelers. All enhancements will retain the hotel's current early California feel, which includes hand-collected antiques, oriental rugs, wood-beam ceilings and greenery.
A new ballroom will be added during the project that will be a part of a new 27,000-sf conference center. A new 3,000-sf lawn that includes an adjacent trellis-covered patio will complement the conference center.
Construction on the conference center portion of the project will begin in March and will finish up in early 2007.
Meanwhile, the hotel's spa will also be renovated and expanded. That project's plans call for a new 2,500-sf pool and hydro-spa with seven cabanas. The spa work will commence in August and be completed by October.
The hotel's guestrooms will also soon be enhanced through the addition of platform beds, new couches and chairs, upgraded linens, flat-screen televisions and new furniture on the private patios and balconies that are adjacent to each room. These enhancements will begin in September and conclude in January 2007.
Working on the projects are design firm BBG-BBGM and architectural firm Hill, Glazier and Associates. The Rancho Bernardo Inn is a member of Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.
