SYDNEY, Australia, March 1, 2006. Crown Towers has once again been awarded one of the highest honours in the Australian tourism industry, winning the Australian Tourism Awards for Luxury Accommodation.
More than 900 key industry operators, State and Federal Government Ministers, heads of State tourism authorities and industry leaders from across the country gathered on the Gold Coast for the awards ceremony on 24 February 2006. Finalists were winners of the State and Territory Tourism Awards in their respective categories held in 2005 and a national judging panel of 24 leading industry figures made the final selection to determine Australia's champions of tourism in the National Tourism Awards.
The prestigious Awards salute the tourism industry's leading operators, businesses and individuals. They reinforce the enormous value of tourism to the community, highlighting the great experience on offer across Australia and recognise the hard work of tourism operators who go that extra step to provide guests with a memorable and quality experience.
"It is a great honour for Crown Towers to receive the Australian Tourism Award for Luxury Accommodation. To offer our guests the ultimate experience in luxury, great attention is paid to all aspects of our operation," said Peter Crinis, Executive General Manager of Crown Hotels.
"This is possible because we have a team of dedicated and experienced staff who are highly committed to excellence in customer service. By adding personalised service to an excellent property, we are able to create a unique and memorable experience for our guests," he added.
"Victorian tourism operators have proved they are among the nation's best by scooping seven Australian Tourism Awards. All are deserving winners and have done exceptionally well to be named among the nation's best against tough competition from all other states and territories," Tourism Minister John Pandazopoulos commented.
