US Hotel School to Open in Asia
LAS VEGAS, NV, March 2, 2006. The United States' biggest hotelel college, The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), is planning to open its first international campus in Singapore.
It will be geared to meeting the needs of Asia's booming travel industry, boosted by the low cost carriers.
The William F. Harrah College, located at Singapore's new National Library is set to open in September 2006 and will initially take in 50 - 100 students from around the region, such as China, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea and India.
According to Singapore's Transportation Minister Yeo Cheow Tong, in eight years, 870 million passengers will be travelling to, within and from the Asia-Pacific region - more than double the number in 1999.
