Jerry Westenhaver Named GM at Hyatt Regency Tamaya

SANTA ANA PUEBLO, NM, March 1, 2006. Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa announces the appointment of Jerry Westenhaver as General Manager. Westenhaver assumes the responsibilities of overseeing the operations for the 350-room resort that is located on a Native American Pueblo between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico. "This hotel is built on a cultural experience that reflects the Pueblo of Santa Ana's 800-year history," said Westenhaver. "I am very proud to be a part of the bridge between the past and the future."

Westenhaver has held several management positions within the company, most recently as the General Manager at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento. He is a 30-year veteran of the Hyatt Corporation and has been general manager at several Hyatt hotels including the Hyatt Regency Islandia in San Diego, California and Hyatt Regency Cerromar in Dorado, Puerto Rico.

Westenhaver graduated from the University of Central Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Sociology. He was nominated for Hyatt's General Manager of the year in 2000 and 2001.

The Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa is located on 500 acres on the Santa Ana reservation between the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande River, 20 minutes from Albuquerque and 40 minutes from Santa Fe. Along with its unique cultural environment offering traditional pueblo break baking demonstrations and tribal dance performances, Tamaya also features its full-service Tamaya Mist full-service spa; 18-hole championship Twin Warriors Golf Club; tennis courts; Tamaya Cultural Museum and Learning Center; a children's program, Camp Tamaya; and a family program called Srai-Wi (meaning "to gather children together and share with them" in the Santa Ana Pueblo's native language).
