Hammons Happy with Awards Haul
SPRINGFIELD, MO, March 3, 2006. John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts has had a busy start to 2006 with a range of awards and honors received by the company.
First up was the announcement that three of John Q. Hammons properties received the 2006 Best of the Best Readers' Choice Award from ConventionSouth for displaying exemplary creativity and professionalism in the meetings and conventions industry. The award-winning properties include: Embassy Suites Hotel Greenville Golf Resort and Conference Center, Embassy Suites Hotel Nashville South/Cool Springs, and Renaissance Tulsa Hotel & Convention Center.

Next up was the news that the Holiday Inn University Plaza in Bowling Green, Ky., has been ranked 15 among the more than 800 Holiday Inn hotels in Overall Satisfaction of Guest Service for 2005.
Last year it ranked number 21 of 880 hotels. General Manager, Colleen Viter, attributes the improvement to a team-oriented focus on the Holiday Inn brand's philosophy of being a constant, caring friend.
"It takes everyone from a housekeeper to top management to achieve exceptional guest service," said Viter. "The concentration we have placed on the brand's philosophy has pushed us to live it out as an example and truly see each guest as our friend."
Another award went to Imran Hussain, general manager of the Homewood Suites by Hilton Greensboro in North Carolina, who was honored as one of the top "General Managers of the Year" at the brand's recent annual General Manager and Directors of Sales conference in Houston.
"We are very pleased about the honor received by Imran Hussain on behalf of the Homewood Suites Greensboro," said Mr. John Q. Hammons, founder, chairman and chief executive of John Q. And finally, John Q. Hammons revealed that the Embassy Suites Hotels brand presented John Q. Hammons Hotels' properties with 19 honors, including a Connie Award, nine Top Quality Awards, General Manager of the Year and Sales Team of the Year.
The awards were presented during the Embassy Suites Hotel's annual General Manager and Directors of Sales Conference in Austin, Texas.
