Resort at Squaw Creek Earns Conde Nast Top 50
SQUAW VALLEY, CA, March 8, 2006. For the sixth time in the poll's 10-year history, Resort at Squaw Creek, which boasts North Lake Tahoe's sole on-property chairlift that provides guests ski-in/ski-out access to Squaw Valley USA, has been named to Conde Nast Traveler's list of North America's top 50 ski resorts.
The publication's new 'Ski Poll,' derived from comments by Conde Nast Traveler readers, lists Resort at Squaw Creek at No. 29, ahead of several other prominent California ski destinations. The resort now has made the list four times in the last six years.
According to the publication, the overall ranking is based on considerations such as "service (think snow concierges), lines for lifts (you don't want 'em), and the conditions on the mountain (power, baby, powder)."
