Bartech Announces New Cocktail Mix Discount Feature

Unique Capability to Increase Sales and Build Customer Loyalty

. October 14, 2008

LOS ANGELES, CA, June 21, 2005. Bartech Systems International, a premier provider of minibar solutions and the leader in automatic minibar technology, today announced the development of a new Cocktail Mix Discount feature that enables hotels to give guests a price reduction on products used in predefined cocktails. Developed by Bartech's internal R&D group, the new feature was driven by customer merchandising requirements designed to increase minibar sales and brand loyalty.

Customers define the cocktail mix product combinations and the discounts that apply. The Bartech software is customized to recognize when the paired products are taken and apply the corresponding discount to the customer folio. For example, a gin and a tonic both removed from the minibar within a predetermined amount of time of each other will trigger the Cocktail Mix Discount, resulting in a reduced price from the total individual prices. Offering the Cocktail Mix Discount provides a differentiator for hotels and increases overall minibar revenues.

"In developing the Cocktail Mix Discount feature, we simply listened to our customers," said President Mario Agrario, Bartech The Americas. "Hotels want their minibar pricing to reflect how products are consumed it's just good business and good guest service. The Cocktail Mix Discount feature provides a value added incentive that helps our hotel customers build brand loyalty and enhance profitability."

Bartech's flexible software architecture enables the addition of new features and functions quickly and easily. With the industry's only in-house R&D department, Bartech is able to customize individual customer requirements in a responsive and cost effective manner.

Bartech automated minibars provide the ability to control and track refreshment revenues and usage. Charges are posted directly to the guest folio in the property management system (PMS) in real time, making minibar operations efficient and profitable while minimizing guest disputes and lost revenues. Plus, Bartech's software provides the refill and reporting information to speed replenishment, eliminate expired inventory, reduce energy and labor costs, and enhance merchandising for popular high-profit products.
