Former Starwood Hotel Executive Norman MacLeod Starts New Company
Hay Creek Hospitality to Own and Manage Hotels and Consult
WESTPORT, CT, June 24, 2005. Hotel industry veteran Norman W. MacLeod has started his own company, Hay Creek Hospitality, which will own and manage hotels as well as serve as consultants to the hospitality community. After more than 35 years in the hotel business, Mr. MacLeod has worked for a number of the world's most celebrated hotel brands including Sheraton, Omni and Westin.
Most recently, Mr. MacLeod spent seven years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. He joined the company in 1998 after the acquisition of Westin Hotels & Resorts where he had served as Regional Director of the Southeast. During his tenure at Starwood, Mr. MacLeod served in various senior executive roles, including Executive Vice President for Westin Hotels and Resorts, where he lead the successful efforts to reposition the brand; Executive Vice President of North American Operations; and, most recently, in the position of Executive Vice President of Sheraton Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where MacLeod was instrumental in reinvigorating Starwood's largest and most global brand.
