Kuoni Shows Net Loss for 2005
BERN, Switzerland, March 15, 2006. Swiss travel operator Kuoni has reported a net loss for 2005. This has been due to charges related to a specific sector sale and a resort in Spain.
The tour operator has told reporters that bookings have showed a positive trend so far this year. Kouni showed a net loss came in at CHF42.0 million compared with a net profit of CHF74.1 million for 2004.
The tour operator has said sales rose 3 percent to CHF3.69 billion. Bookings in March were 11 percent higher than in the year-ago period, highlighting the current upbeat trend in the tourism industry, Kuoni said.
