Jim Metzger Named GM Great Wolf Lodge, Mason, OH
MADISON, WI, May 1, 2006. Great Wolf Resorts, Inc.(R) (Madison, Wis.), America's largest developer of indoor waterpark resorts, has named Jim Metzger general manager for the company's eighth Great Wolf Lodge resort, under construction in Mason, Ohio. Metzger will be responsible for the successful operation of the 401, all-suite, northwoods-themed family resort, scheduled to open this fall in Mason, Ohio.
Metzger has a wealth of management and operational experience including over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Most recently he served as vice president hotel operations of Hollywood Casino in Shreveport, La., where he oversaw a staff of 1,200. Prior to that, he was the general manager of the Spa Hotel in Palm Springs, Calif. where he directed all hotel related functions.
Metzger is certified in hospitality administration by the American Hotel Association and is a graduate of Cornell University's General Manager Program. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in German from Eastern Kentucky University.
Metzger will be moving to Mason, Ohio this summer with his wife Silke Busch-Metzger, and their two children Mason and Monet. Jim is an Ohio native, originally from Middletown.
Once complete, Great Wolf Lodge will provide a comprehensive package of first-class destination lodging amenities including a 90,000 square-foot indoor entertainment area featuring a grand scale waterpark, 40,000 square-foot conference center, family restaurants, 100-game arcade, children's activity room, gift shop, confectionery cafe, Aveda(R) Concept Spa, fitness room, outdoor recreation area and more. The development of Great Wolf Lodge is the result of the joint venture between Great Wolf Resorts and Paramount's Kings Island.
