ATLANTA, GA, July 11, 2005. Canada's first Microtel Inn & Suites property will break ground on Bowes Street in Parry Sound, Ontario on July 14th. The hotel is owned by Ontarinns, Inc. of Toronto, and will be built by W.S. Morgan Construction of Parry Sound. The Microtel Inn & Suites is located off the Trans Canada Highway 400 at exit 224, and is expected to open in April 2006. Parry Sound is in the heart of the 30,000 Islands of Georgian Bay, 140 miles north of Toronto.

Microtel Inns & Suites is the all newly-constructed, budget/economy chain with 275 hotels open or under construction worldwide. The brand prides itself in offering quality accommodations at a value price, without extra charges for unwanted amenities. Hotels have a residential appeal and are consistent, meaning that guests will find the same great hotel everywhere they go.

According to Mike Leven, president and CEO of US Franchise Systems, Inc. (USFS), parent company of the franchisor of the Microtel brand, "We take pride in the opportunity to break ground on the first Microtel in Canada and are excited to begin a relationship with Henry Lowry and his team. The organization is truly dedicated to creating a quality Microtel property and to its success in Canada."

Said Lowry, "Microtel is the right idea at the right time in the right place... Parry Sound is a growing tourist destination, and both Canadians and visiting Americans will find it to be an excellent lodging choice and welcome alternative to higher-priced properties."

The three-story, 64-room Microtel hotel will feature single, double and suite accommodations, in addition to a business center and meeting room. Amenities will include free wireless high speed Internet access in all guestrooms; phones with data port and voice mail; satellite television with CNN, HBO, ESPN and pay-per-view, and complimentary daily continental breakfast. The hotel is located nearby several golf courses, snow mobile trails and West Parry Sound Health Center, and less than two miles from Georgian Bay, Island Queen Cruise, Stockey Performing Arts Center and Bobby Orr Hockey Hall of Fame.
