Benchmark Appoints Keith Battaglia Director of Sales & Marketing

HOUSTON, TX, May 17, 2006. Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Keith Battaglia as director of sales & marketing for Glen Cove Mansion Hotel and Conference Center, located in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York. Sean McLaughlin, general manager of the property, made the announcement. "Keith has a highly distinguished record with Benchmark Hospitality, including a period that he worked for the company's properties in Manhattan," stated Mr. McLaughlin. "We are extremely pleased to have him back in New York to lead the sales & marketing program at the Glen Cove Mansion."
Keith Battaglia was most recently director of sales for The Northland Inn, a Benchmark property located near Minneapolis, Minnesota. Under his leadership, The Northland Inn exceeded top line group sales for the first time in over 10 years, representing nearly a 100% increase in booking pace year-over-year.
Battaglia previously served as director of sales for The Chattanoogan, Benchmark's property located in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. While at the property his organizational, training and account management skills generated significant business volume for the hotel.
Mr. Battaglia also served as director of sales for the former World Trade Institute Conference Center, now the Downtown Conference Center, located in lower Manhattan, New York City.
Keith Battaglia was part of the opening team for the AT&T Learning Center, later re-branded as North Maple Inn at Basking Ridge (New Jersey), serving as sales manager. He previously served as marketing manager for the opening of the JP Morgan Conference & Training Facility, located on Wall Street in New York City.
A native of New York, Mr. Battaglia earned his bachelor's degree from Boston University. He has relocated to Glen Cove.
