TELLURIDE, Colo. (July 7, 2005) - Wyndham International, Inc. (AMEX:WBR) has appointed Ray B. "Johnny" Johnston as director of sales and marketing at the Wyndham Peaks Resort & Golden Door(R) Spa, the luxurious mountain retreat located in the San Juan Mountain range of Telluride, Colo. In this position, Johnston will oversee all marketing, advertising, publicity and sales activities for the Wyndham Peaks and its sister property, The Cabins & Penthouses at The Peaks - A Wyndham Luxury Resort.

Paramount to Johnston's marketing techniques is his dedication to team development and motivation, and the creation of "spirited" teams working in harmony and producing great results. With his appointment, he plans to use this experience to build meeting and convention business at the alpine retreat while positioning capital investment projects on property, including the $1.3 million renovation of the resort's Golden Door Spa. Johnston will also focus efforts on promoting the resort's incomparable services and amenities to the local, regional and national markets.
A 30-year veteran of the hotel industry, Johnston is well-versed in the specialty of marketing and sales. Following a decade of service with Hilton Hotels International, Johnston continued to hone his marketing skills in leading positions with Marriott Hotels, Resorts & Suites across the United States and Hawaii for the next 15 years. Most recently, Johnston served as director of marketing for The Peabody Orlando in Fla., a post which he began in 2002.
Born into the hospitality business, Johnston grew up in Myrtle Beach, SC, where his parents owned and operated a 40-room motel. Johnston earned a degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC and now resides in Telluride with his wife and three children.
