RICHMOND, VA, June 14, 2006. Shamin Hotels today announced the hiring of Himanshu Vahal as the Chef of the new Hilton Garden Inn in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Shamin Hotels, based in Richmond, Virginia, currently has 24 properties in the U.S. and has plans to double the size of its portfolio over the next five years. Hiring a top-quality chef for the company's new flagship hotel was a priority.

Chef Vahal graduated from the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology's three-year course in Hotel Management from India. He started his career training with The Leela Kempinski Hotels and Resorts (A member of the Leading Hotels of the World), which have established global leadership position in 5-Star Luxury Hotels, and Resorts.

After his time in India, he traveled to America to explore his boundaries and work with Crowne Plaza in Richmond and Marriott in Long Island, New York. Himanshu trained under the expertise of European and Asian Chefs, acquiring knowledge of international cuisine ranging from Continental, Scandinavian, American, Asian and Fusion Cuisine. Himanshu can take you through cuisines that traverse the continents in his own customized and creative menu selections. Aside from cooking, his hobbies are traveling, watching movies and historical documents.
