Robert Carlson Wins Carlson Hotels Worldwide's First Quarter Goldpoints Plus Sweepstakes Dream Vacat

. October 14, 2008

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, July 14, 2005. Robert Carlson of Michigan, a Gold Elite member of Carlson Hotels Worldwide's goldpoints plusSM guest loyalty program, was totally surprised and even a bit skeptical initially, when he was notified that he was the winner of the program's first quarterly sweepstakes featuring a dream vacation to the luxurious Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino. A frequent guest of Carlson's Radisson brand who has earned close to half a million Gold Points(R) in the past few years and stays at the Radisson Hotel Grand Rapids Riverfront up to four times a month, Mr. Carlson called the hotel's general manager to confirm the sweepstakes. The Michigan Radisson hotel is one of his favorites and provides attentive service that he says makes him feel like a celebrity.

Mr. Carlson said he is excited about the trip as he has never been to Aruba, let alone the Caribbean. He has heard about the country's great tropical trade winds as well as the lovely beachfront resort, and is eager to check out the sights. He also noted: "The goldpoints plus program offers and added value that provides a return that creates strong loyalty among its patrons. It helps encourage guests like me to go out of their way to find an aligned hotel.

With every stay at one of Carlson hotels - more than 750 locations at its four participating brands - members are automatically entered into a quarterly drawing to win a vacation. The winner for the second quarter goldpoints plus drawing will be announced soon.

Launched in January 2005, members of the goldpoints plus program can earn Gold Points(R) when they stay at Radisson Hotels & Resorts(R), Park Plaza(R) Hotels & Resorts, Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM or Park Inn(R) at 750 locations participating worldwide. Goldpoints plusS" is designed to provide members with more ways to earn points for rewards and more freedom to redeem them, than any other hotel loyalty program. The program offers three levels of membership: Base, Silver Elite and Gold Elite. Upon reaching the Elite tier levels, guests, such as Mr. Carlson, have an even greater earning potential with 50 percent and 75 percent bonuses respectively on the points earned on hotel stays. Members only need a minimum of 5,000 points to qualify for Silver Elite status each year and 10,000 to earn Gold Elite among the fastest qualifying in the hotel industry.
