InterContinental Appoints Pascal Gauvin to Director and GM

LONDON, UK, July 19, 2006. InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the appointment of Pascal Gauvin, Director of Operations, UAE and Qatar, as well as General Manager, Crowne Plaza Dubai.

In his new role Gauvin's portfolio of responsibility will encompass eight properties within Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Sharjah and Doha across all three brands, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn. One of the key initiatives that will be a focus for Gauvin includes the development of the group's properties within the Dubai Festival City project, including the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City and the InterContinental Residence Suites Dubai Festival City.

Gauvin will take up his new position as Director of Operations UAE and Qatar and General Manager of Crowne Plaza Dubai this month.

Gauvin first joined InterContinental Hotels Group in 1993 as Food & Beverage Manager at InterContinental Hotel Paris and has since held several managerial positions in Philippine, Lebanon, Malaysia, Singapore, Gabon before moving in to the new current position.

Speaking about his new role, Gauvin said, 'The UAE and Qatar are such vibrant markets and I look forward to help driving the group's business forward across these areas both in terms of improving the hotels' excellence in service, as well as consolidating and growing our partnerships with our hotel owners and investors.'
