Kevin Duvall Appointed COO of GWCCA

JULY 17, 2009 - Kevin Duvall has been named chief operating officer of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, effective August 1. Dan Graveline, Georgia World Congress Center Authority executive director, recently announced the appointment.

Duvall has been assistant general manager of the Georgia World Congress Center since May 2006, where he has overseen the day to day operations of the 3.9 million square foot facility. Prior to that, he was assistant general manager of the Georgia Dome for four years and spent 10 years at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas where he assisted with the opening of the facility and worked his way up from event staff coordinator to facility manager.

"Kevin has done a great job for the Authority during the last seven years as the assistant general manager of the GWCC and the Georgia Dome," said GWCCA Executive Director Dan Graveline. "His overall knowledge and attention to detail is a perfect fit for the COO position. I also believe his leadership skills will take our world-class venues to the next level in operations and customer service excellence."

As chief operating officer of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, Duvall will be responsible for managing the operations of the Georgia World Congress Center, Georgia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park.

Duvall earned his master's of education with a sports administration emphasis at Texas Tech and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas. Duvall has been a member of IAAM since 1996 and currently serves as the chair of the Convention Centers/Exhibition Halls Committee. He and his wife Shannon have two children.
