Duane Schroder Appointed DO for Mystic Marriott in Groton
GROTON, CT, July 31, 2009 - Duane Schroder was recently appointed as director of operations for the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa located in Groton, CT. In his new role, Schroder is responsible for overseeing the rooms and food & beverage departments of the hotel, including budgeting, scheduling, training, and maintaining the hotels AAA 4-Diamond rating, as well as strict adherence to all Marriott and Waterford Hotel Group standards. The 285-room Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa is managed by Waterford Hotel Group, a national hotel management firm operating 25 properties in nine states.
Schroder joins the Mystic Marriott team after nearly three years as general manager of the Radisson Hotel in Bloomfield Hills, MI. He began his career with Waterford Hotel Group in 2002 as a participant in the company's International Associates Program, after completing his hospitality degree from Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg, South Africa. Schroder then held positions in food and beverage, housekeeping, and the front office departments at numerous hotels within the Waterford portfolio, including front office manager of the Hilton Hartford in CT, before being promoted to general manager of the Holiday Inn Express in Southington, CT.
