Regent Palms Appoints Juan Carlos Gonzalez Director of TI Sales
TURKS & CAICOS, August 6, 2009 - The Regent Palms Turks and Caicos announces the appointment of Juan Carlos Gonzalez as Director of Travel Industry Sales. A talented, experienced and knowledgeable hospitality sales manager, Gonzalez will be responsible for developing and building group business through innovative sales programs. In addition, he will focus on the high-end FIT market segment for the award-winning resort overlooking Grace Bay Beach on the island of Providenciales.

Prior to joining The Regent Palms, Gonzalez spent nine years in management with Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts, including several sales positions. Most recently, he was Director of Key Account Management/Premium Portfolio for Sol Melia, based in the New York offices of Leading Hotels of the World. Among the array of positions he held over the years with Sol Melia are Regional Director of Leisure Sales Northeast USA, Regional Director of Leisure Sales for the Caribbean Northeast USA, Tour and Travel Sales Manager at the Paramount Hotel in New York, and Sales Coordinator for the US and Canada responsible for the company's e-business initiatives. Gonzalez' hospitality career began with Sol Melia in 2000 as Manager of the "Royal Services" VIP Floor at Hotel Gran Melia Mexico Reforma.
A native of Mexico City, Gonzalez earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and studied for a Masters in Hotel Direction from the Hotel School Sta. Brigida, in the Canary Islands, Spain. He will be based in New York.
