AKA Names Jeffrey Poirot & Jenna Arin General Managers
AKA Central Park and AKA Times Square
NEW YORK, NY, August 6, 2009 - AKA is pleased to announce the addition of two new executives: Jeffrey Poirot and Jenna Arin as general managers at AKA Central Park and AKA Times Square respectively. Poirot and Arin bring nearly 20 years of combined Manhattan-specific hospitality experience to the luxury extended-stay brand.
A 13-year veteran of the hotel industry, Poirot boasts a wealth of sales and operational knowledge of the luxury market. He previously served as the director of sales and marketing at Sofitel New York and as the director of group sales at The New York Palace hotel. Poirot began his career at The Plaza Hotel where he held a number of positions, including executive meetings manager. Poirot holds a bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University.
Across town, Arin leads the AKA Times Square team after most recently serving as director of sales and marketing at the Algonquin Hotel. Prior to working in NYC, Arin worked in a sales capacity at The Boar's Head Inn and the Radisson Plaza Hotel, both in Virginia. Arin received her master's degree specializing in hospitality administration from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.
"Both Jeffrey and Jenna have incredible experience within Manhattan and we are excited to welcome them to the AKA team," said MJ Paschall, president of AKA, which has four properties in the city. "Adding these two accomplished managers is invaluable for the AKA brand as a whole and each of the properties they are working with."
The brand's flagship property, AKA Central Park recently unveiled two new penthouse suites designed by Joan Pierpoline of Studio IntraMuros. The architecturally-inspired spaces feature 1,500-square-foot wraparound terraces with outdoor lounging and dining areas. AKA Central Park is also gearing up to unveil a new caf'e and fitness center in fall 2009.
A landmarked property, AKA Times Square underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation which preserved the historic facade of the building while modernizing the property with all-new building systems. Over the past year this project has brought back to life the integrity of the original architecture and recaptured the turn-of-the-century Theatre District charm. AKA Times Square will also unveil a new caf'e in fall 2009.
Both AKA Central Park and AKA Times Square offer guests complimentary en-suite high speed Internet access, business and fitness centers, housekeeping services, 24-hour attended front desk, concierge and on-site caf'es with complimentary club breakfast.
