AUGUST 7, 2009 - The Landings St. Lucia, A RockResort, announces the appointment of Kimia Ghafari as spa manager. In her new position, Kimia oversees day-to-day operations of St. Lucia's leading luxury spa, the 7,000 square-foot Caribbean-inspired RockResorts Spa?.

Prior to joining The Landings team, Ghafari gained leadership experience as manager/director of Sudi's Spa & Salon in Yorkville, Toronto, Canada. During her 9-year tenure, she was responsible for overseeing, training and motivating associates, as well as developing sales, marketing and business plans. Additionally, Ghafari has held positions as director of marketing of Sudi's Skin Care and Make-up Line where she expanded her beauty and spa product knowledge, and director of public relations and marketing at the Toronto School of Aesthetics. Ghafari has been immersed in the beauty industry since she was a child in Toronto, where she would accompany her mother, Soheila Sarrafzadeh, to the family businesses including Sudi's Spa & Salon. By 8-years-old, she was learning how the spa operated at every level by starting on the cleaning crew and working her way up.

Ghafari's vision for future spa upgrades include an enhanced treatment menu to provide the most luxurious and cutting edge world-renowned treatments, techniques and products. Current RockResorts Spa products include Epicuren Discovery Face & Body Line, J.F. Lazartigue and Goldwell hair products.

The RockResorts Spa features eight treatment rooms, which includes two facial rooms, two body treatment rooms, a wet room with a twelve jet shower, and three VIP rooms (including the couples suite) where guests can enjoy their treatment followed by "liming" (relaxation) time on a private balcony equipped with massage tub and shower. Signature treatments invigorate and replenish skin with St. Lucian spices including hints of Vanilla, Bay Leaf, Ginger and Cinnamon. One of the highlights, the "La Soufriere and Lime Body Treatment," incorporates Thai stretches, acupressure and Island Lomi-Lomi techniques to soothe and unwind aching muscles. Innovative therapies appeal to women, men and younger guests. Young spa-goers can experience customized manicures and pedicures or the "My Skin-101" facial. Guests can also take advantage of the spa's full service salon and fitness center equipped with Cybex machines, free weights and yoga classes.

The Landings St. Lucia, A RockResort, is the most luxurious full-service resort of its size on the island, spanning 19 acres and nearly 800 feet of St. Lucia's most stunning beachfront. In December 2008, The Landings St. Lucia unveiled 60 new villa suites, bringing the resort's total to 122. Each of the one-, two-, and three-bedroom spacious suites boast a fully equipped kitchen and two large balconies or landscaped terrace, many with heated, jetted plunge pools.
