Preferred Group Names Peter M. Kressaty as a Regional Director
CHICAGO, IL, September 15, 2009 - Preferred Hotel Group is pleased to announce the strategic appointment of Peter M. Kressaty as Regional Director of Florida. In his new position, Kressaty will provide support and continue to develop Preferred Hotel Group's portfolio within this region.
Most recently, Kressaty served as senior vice president of Carino Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Additionally, he has held the positions of general manager of The Lowell Hotel in New York, operations director at the Yale Club, and senior management positions with Hyatt Hotels.
"Peter's 17 years of experience in the hospitality industry, combined with his expertise in sales, marketing and operations, made him the ideal candidate for this fast growing, important region," said John Ueberroth, chairman and CEO of Preferred Hotel Group.
Throughout his seven years with Carino Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Kressaty oversaw the company's business development, and grew the client base to 65 luxury hotels and resorts worldwide. He led the sales, marketing and brand positioning globally, and formed strategic alliances with select industry partners. In addition, Kressaty was responsible for the recruiting and training of sales managers in both London and North America.
During his tenure with The Lowell, Kressaty achieved one of the highest average rates in the hotels history, ranking it among the top 10 in the U.S. As a result, Kressaty was able to grow the hotel's profit margins exponentially. While at The Yale Club of New York, he managed all aspects of the club's operations and achieved the highest average occupancy percentage in the club's history. For seven years, Kressaty held senior management positions in two divisions at three Hyatt's located in the North East - sales and marketing, and operations - working at both the regional and property levels.
Currently, Kressaty serves on the board of advisors for the International School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at his alma mater, Fairleigh-Dickinson University, in Madison, N. J. He was an adjunct faculty member at New York University and Baruch College in New York.
