Arthur Gordon, Director, National Accounts
Gordon joined El Conquistador Resort in 2009. In his new position as Director of National Accounts, Gordon will be responsible for the New York and Canadian markets (corporate, association, and SMERF business), with continued involvement in the nationwide financial market. Gordon's career in the hotel industry spans more than 20 years, beginning in Chicago with Hyatt Hotels. Since then, he has worked at notable hotels and resorts across the U.S. such as the Hyatt Regency O'Hare, Chicago; Bonaventure Resort and Spa, Fort Lauderdale; Sheraton El Conquistador, Tucson; The Homestead Resort, Hot Springs, VA.; Doral Golf Resort and Spa, Miami; and Atlantis, Paradise Island. Gordon obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Administration with a minor in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Ivelís L. Crespo, Senior Sales Manager, Executive Meetings
A 15 year industry veteran, Crespo has been promoted to Senior Sales Manager after joining the sales department at El Conquistador Resort in 1994 and holding various positions from sales secretary to site sales coordinator. In her new position, Crespo will oversee the Northeastern market/territory of the U.S. managing client accounts with requests of 10 - 60 rooms, as well as handling the destination weddings market. Crespo has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing and Support Services from the University of Puerto Rico in Bayamon.
Betzaida Velez, Sales Manager, Executive Meetings - Puerto Rico & Latin America
Velez joined El Conquistador Resort as Convention Services Manager and after just over a year and half, has been promoted to the position of Sales Manager for Executive Meetings. In her new position, Velez will be responsible for the Puerto Rico, Latin American, and International markets for groups seeking between 10-60 rooms. An industry veteran for 14 years, Velez obtained her bachelor's degree in hotel management from the University of Puerto Rico in Carolina.
Ruth Belardo-Vazquez, Sales Manager, Executive Meetings
With 14 years experience in the industry, Belardo-Vazquez has worked in the convention services department at El Conquistador Resort for eight of those years and has been promoted to Sales Manager, Executive Meetings. In her new position, she will be responsible for business coming from the Western northeastern U.S. booking 10-60 rooms. Belardo-Vazquez received her Bachelor's Degree in Tourism from Sagrado Corazón University in San Juan.
