Starwood Reaches Deal with Saraya Aqaba
WHITE PLAINS, NY, January 3, 2007. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.(R) is building up its portfolio in the Middle East with a deal to operate two luxury resorts in Jordan. Under the agreement, The Westin(R) Aqaba Resort will be managed by Starwood's(R) Westin brand while the Al-Manara hotel will join Starwood's Luxury Collection(R). The agreement is part of Jordan's Sarays Aqaba project, an ambitious real estate development plan to transform Aqaba into a world-class tourist destination on the Red Sea.
