Orchard Hotel Singapore Makes Two Appointments

SINGAPORE, January 10, 2007. General Manager Mr Eric Brand is proud to announce the appointments of the following key personnel at award-winning Orchard Hotel Singapore:

Mr Ruprecht Schmitz - Executive Assistant Manager

In his present capacity, Mr Schmitz assists the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the operation of the hotel and focusing on rooms division department.

Prior to assuming his present position, Mr Schmitz was the Rooms Division Manager of Millennium Hotel Paris Opera. Before that, Mr Schmitz has worked in management positions with various International hotel chains in Europe. With over ten years of international experience in the hospitality industry, he has had extensive knowledge in the areas of Front Office and Rooms Division Operations.

Commenting on his position, German-born Ruprecht Schmitz who is trilingual in German, English and French remarked, "I am grateful to be in Singapore, my first Asia posting! It is also an honour for me to be working for one of the largest hotel groups in the world. I am most delighted to be part of the award-winning Orchard Hotel Singapore and look forward to contribute to the ongoing success of the hotel."

Mr Eric Teo has been promoted to the position of Director of Food and Beverage. Mr Teo has been the Executive Chef with Orchard Hotel Singapore since 2003 and the first Singaporean President of Singapore Chefs Association since 2005, having achieved many accolades for the hotel, SCA and Singapore!

In his new capacity, Mr Teo oversees all operations and management of the Food & Beverage Division, including the award-winning Hua Ting Restaurant where its Masterchef Chan Kwok has recently won the "Best Chinese Cuisine Chef" at the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2006-2007 and trend-setting Orchard Caf'e where Mr Teo himself was most recently bestowed the Honorary Award for 2006 Singapore Gourmet Hunt.
