The treatment utilizes the healing, cleansing and protective properties of Cedar trees and includes a full-body exfoliation using a combination of aromatic essential oils and natural sea salts, leaving dry surface skin smooth and revitalized. A 50-minute relaxation massage can be added to the treatment for just $59 (a 40 percent savings) during the month of April. To make an appointment at The Spa, please call (503) 622-2270.

For those who would like to stay overnight for a complete voluntourism vacation, The Resort is offering the “Earth Days” package, which includes overnight accommodations in a spacious guest room, breakfast for two at Altitude Restaurant featuring seasonal local selections, and one 50-minute Ancient Cedar Body Polish at The Spa. The package is available April 1-30, 2010 and starts at $179 per night. Reservations are available online at http://www.TheResort.com.

The Resort's “Give Back” program adds to the property's conservation policies and sustainability practices already in place including a substantial waste reduction including the use of electronic-brochures instead of paper and comprehensive recycling program. The food and beverage department purchases locally grown, seasonal products whenever possible and uses edible garnishes grown in The Resort's herb garden. Additionally, surplus food is donated to a local retirement home. In-room guest amenities are environmentally safe and packaged in biodegradable bottles made primarily from a corn-based plastarch material (PSM), which reduces environmental impact and promotes a sustainable future. The Resort's 27-hole golf course, The Courses, is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, recognized for environmental excellence in five categories including Wildlife and Habitat Management, Outreach and Education, Integrated Pest Management, Water Conservation and Water Quality Management. In addition, The Resort is involved in several other restoration projects including the Salmon River Side Channel Enhancement Project, among others.
