La Costa Resort Appoints Michelle Frye Spa Director
MAY 11, 2010 - Michelle Frye has been appointed spa director at La Costa Resort and Spa, nestled among 400 lush garden acres near the beach in Carlsbad, Calif. Originally created in the 1960s as a playground for celebrities and athletes, La Costa offers all guests access to the enviable coastal California lifestyle.
Frye will manage The Spa at La Costa, an elegant 43,000-square-foot sanctuary envisioned by world-renowned spa specialist Sylvia Sepielli. Divided into two spaces, a 28,000-square-foot interior and 15,000-square-foot outdoor courtyard, the spa creates an environment in which guests feel connected to nature whether they are indoors or out.
Frye joins La Costa from the Spa at Se San Diego Hotel, where she held the position of spa director since January 2008. Frye was involved in the boutique hotel's opening in December 2008. Prior to Se San Diego Hotel, Frye held various positions for eight years within the Hyatt Hotels & Resorts portfolio including Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach and Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa.
Frye is an Advisory board member of the University of California Irvine Spa Management Program, a member of the Southern California Spa Directors Association and a member of Spa Exec Committee.
The Spa at La Costa offers a full menu of memorable treatments from exotic massages and herbal wraps to pampering facials and new clinical skin care treatments. The spa features 42 treatment rooms, including 20 massage, eight facial, two multi-purpose, two Thai, six body treatment, one Vichy shower, one hydro-tub and two VIP spa suites for couples.
