Mariott Fairfield, New Bedford Names GM
WESTPORT, MA - May 24, 2010 - Lafrance Hospitality has announced that Shelly Perry has been appointed general manager of the new Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, hotel located at 185 MacArthur Drive, New Bedford, Ma. 02740. The hotel is completing its final stage of construction, with a May 27, 2010 opening.
As general manager, Perry will direct all areas of the hotel's operations, including guest services, sales and marketing efforts and hotel administration.
“Based on Ms. Perry's outstanding record in hotel management, we are confident that she will be instrumental in ensuring the success of this new Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites,” said Richard Lafrance, Owner. “Ms. Perry will be a strong asset to this new property as we gear up for its opening scheduled for the summer season.”
Ms. Perry, a career employee of Lafrance Hospitality, has moved through progressively responsible positions both on the restaurant/banquet side of the business, and the hotel side. Within the New Bedford community, Shelly has over twenty years professional hospitality industry experience. She was most recently the General Manager of the Fairhaven Hampton Inn.
The new hotel will include amenities such as the complimentary Hot Buffet Breakfast served daily, complimentary wired and wireless high-speed Internet access and complimentary coffee and tea service. Extended Stay Suites include separate areas for working, relaxing and sleeping - including an entertainment area with flat screen television and ihome stereo system, in-room refrigerator and microwave.
The facility will also offer a business library, guest laundry, 24-hour market, fitness center, a hotel courtesy shuttle to area businesses, and an indoor pool and Jacuzzi. There will be meeting facilities, as well, with an Executive Board Room and a 3,000 square foot full service Conference Center, which includes a ballroom and three meeting rooms.
