CHANDLER, AZ, January 17, 2007. The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa is among the top 100 properties in the Western U.S., Canada and Mexico to receive the coveted Platinum Choice Award for 2006 by readers of Smart Meetings magazine.

This is the second consecutive year that the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass has received the Platinum Choice Award and the Resort is one of only a handful of Arizona properties included on this prestigious list.

Smart Meetings' readers, comprised of 30,000 meeting professionals, were asked to choose the hotels and resorts that they felt exemplified the highest commitment to excellence in 2006. Meeting professionals from all over the country submitted votes, rating properties from personal experience on criteria including quality of service, facilities and technology, as well as environment and overall meeting experience. Also considered were efficiency, staff attitude and flexibility, as well as guest accommodations. The quality of food and beverage, recreational offerings, accessibility and locations, amenities and dining service were also evaluated.

"Our readers got to honor the properties that they felt went the extra mile for their meeting," said Marin Bright, founder and publisher of Smart Meetings. "By going above and beyond, our Platinum Choice Award recipients raise that bar even higher. And, ultimately, that translates to better meetings for our readers and their attendees."

The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass features more than 100,000 sq. ft of indoor/outdoor meeting space and offers guests a wide variety of entertainment options from Western-themed events to custom-designed cultural programs organized by the Resort's Cultural Concierge.

"This award reflects the boundless dedication of our entire Resort staff to make every guest feel warm and welcome during their stay," said Director of Sales & Marketing, Patrick Connors. "Our meeting facilities are unsurpassed, but what truly sets us apart from our competition is our connection with the local Pima and Maricopa People and the five star service culture of the Resort that ensures that every guest receives personal attention from our genuine and caring staff."

All recipients of The Platinum Choice Award were featured in the December issue of Smart Meetings magazine and also received a distinctive plaque crafted by the company that creates the Oscar(R) Statuette and The Emmy Awards trophy.
