Sheraton Cleveland Airport Hotel Gives Back to Community

. July 14, 2010

Cleveland, OH - July 13, 2010 - Sheraton Cleveland Airport Hotel is pleased to announce their participation in the National Kidney Foundation Walk. Through multiple fund-raising efforts on property, the hotel was able to donate over $3,500. Philanthropy is an essential component of the Sheraton brand, built on a sense of Warm, Connected, Community.

Patty Bella, Director of Human Resource, organized several competitions for the hotel staff, all with a goal of raising money for the charity. The hotel staff participated in opportunities to “buy” a day off without pay, paid to dress down on Fridays, sold candy bars to hotel staff, bought tickets for a raffle and divided into teams for Penny Wars. Says Ms. Bella, “I am very proud of the way our property came together for such an amazing cause. We all had a lot of fun trying to come up with creative ways to raise money and are already looking forward to our next effort.”

The last part of the effort was to participate in the National Kidney Foundation's 3K walk in Cleveland, OH on June 5, 2010. The property turned over their donation and walked on to celebrate their accomplishment. General Manager Tom Rousher said, “We are pleased that, with our help, the Kidney Foundation will be able to help those in our community.”
