Rubicon Hires Rao Avasarala as EVP Enterprise Solutions
August 4, 2010 - Rubicon, a leading provider of competitive market intelligence to the travel and hospitality industry, has named Rao Avasarala as executive vice president of enterprise solutions. An accomplished marketing solutions professional with more than 17 years of experience in pricing, demand management, market research, consumer and shopper insights, Avasarala has contributed in a diverse array of industry verticals including hospitality, rental car, media, automotive, industrial/manufacturing and consumer packaged goods.

As executive vice president of enterprise services, Avasarala is a member of the management team and will lead all of Rubicon's enterprise services efforts. This responsibility includes development and enhancement of service offerings, growing and managing the enterprise services team and new business development.

Prior to joining Rubicon, Rao served as vice president of CPG Solution Management at SymphonyIRI Group (formerly known as Information Resources Inc.) for more than five years. In this role, he was responsible for developing and executing pricing, promotion planning and consumer insights solutions for global leaders in consumer packaged goods (CPG). Additionally, Rao has held various consulting and leadership positions at Zilliant, Manugistics and Talus Solutions focusing on pricing and demand management solutions. Most notably, at Manugistics, he led the design and implementation of a state-of-the-art pricing and promotions solution for a major U.S auto manufacturer which was subsequently recognized by Business Week, CIO and The Wall Street Journal.
He received his Masters of Science in Engineering from Auburn University and undergraduate degree from Andhra University in India.
