Holiday Inn North Beach, VA Reopens
September 10, 2010 - The Holiday Inn & Suites North Beach, formerly the Holiday Inn SunSpree, announces their official re-opening. The hotel, which is located beachfront at the northern end of the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, underwent a multi-million dollar renovation prior to re-branding. The hotel includes 238 guest rooms as well as 83 all new oceanfront suites. All guestrooms are well appointed with new bedding, spacious bathrooms and include resort features such as private balconies, a refrigerator/microwave, a 36” flat screen TV, iPod docking station, and complimentary wireless Internet service. For meetings and events, the new conference center offers over 8000 square feet of meeting space in five meeting rooms, as well as the addition of a 48-seat Movie Theater that features family movies and can also be used for group functions.
For family fun the hotel has added Splash Kamp, an activity center for toddlers and “tweens” ages 4-12 years old with guided activities from arts and crafts to sandcastle contests and moon-ball. The new outdoor Splish Splash Lagoon, includes 3 new aquatic features: two 12-foot water slides, an additional lazy river and whirlpool. Families can splash into over 250,000 gallons of fun in the new Splish Splash Lagoon and the indoor Lay-Z-Rivah, Virginia Beach's only indoor water feature. In addition, the Oceanfront Outdoor pool has been updated and features a new pool deck seating 150 lounge chairs as well as a poolside restaurant, The Square Whale, which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and poolside. There is also a new whirlpool and state-of-the-art fitness center.
For dining, in addition to The Square Whale, the hotel offers Isle of Capri, a fine dining Italian restaurant located on the sixth floor with breathtaking views of the Atlantic ocean. The new Greenery restaurant serves seasonal breakfast and lunch.
