Hilton Tokyo Appoints Armin Brandtner Exec Chef

October 15, 2010 - Hilton Tokyo has appointed Armin Brandtner as Executive Chef as of September 15, 2010.

An Austrian national, born in Germany, Armin started his apprenticeship in a private hotel with a 1 Michelin star restaurant in Germany in 1983. After holding various positions in international 5-star hotels, he obtained his Master of Cuisine Qualification in 1992.

Subsequently, Armin was appointed as an Executive Sous Chef of the InterContinental Hotel in Berlin, where he was responsible for all restaurants and banquet/catering operations which had a very high international standard and capacity for up to 4,000 people. In 1995, Armin was appointed as Executive Chef of Steigenberger Hotel Frankfurter Hof, a 5-star hotel in Germany, where he was the youngest Executive Chef ever appointed. He oversaw all restaurants and Bars including a 1 Michelin star French Restaurant there. Armin then continued his career in various International hotels as Executive Chef in the Middle East and Asia until his recent appointment.

As Executive Chef of the Hilton Tokyo, Armin will be fully responsible for the operation of the kitchen, 7 restaurants and 15 banqueting rooms, which can cater for up to 700 diners.
