Senior IHG Executives Join Spectacular Opening in HUA HIN
HUA HIN, Thailand - November 11, 2010 - Senior InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) management joined distinguished guests from all over the world for a glamorous night of 1920s nostalgia and themed-entertainment for the Grand Opening of InterContinental Hua Hin Resort last Saturday evening.

The theme from the heady days of the 1920s for the opening was chosen to celebrate the royal destination of Hua Hin and in particular the Summer Palace that was built in that era by Thai King Rama VI, from which InterContinental Hua Hin Resort draws design inspiration.
IHG Vice President Operations Southeast and Southwest Asia Jolyon Bulley gave an opening speech for the resort saying that InterContinental Hua Hin Resort would be a flagship property for the global group and a clear benchmark for expansion for the resort product in the region.

They were joined by more than 200 guests from as far away as the UK, Russia, Australia and America for a fantastic evening of fine food and glitzy entertainment from world-renowned signer/songwriter Paul Anka, famous for his writing of the classics My Way and Diana, who was a personal guest of the resort for a private performance.
A sumptuous meal was also prepared personally by guest chefs flown in from InterContinental Hong Kong, including Executive Chef Erik Idos from Nobu and Executive Chef Philippe Duc from Spoon partnering with Executive Chef Rene Oskam from InterContinental Hua Hin Resort.
The gala evening was capped off with an elegant champagne reception for dessert by the resort's cozy beachfront Fireside enclave and a spectacular fireworks display while the lights of 100s of small fishing boats lit up the Gulf of Siam in the bay outside the resort to celebrate the occasion.
An after party at The Roof lounge bar area saw a DJ playing to guests while a live jazz band swooned revellers at La Residence Royale.
