Chapel Hill, NC - November 16, 2010 - After many years of flying the Holiday Inn flag, the Holiday Inn Chapel Hill re-branded as an independent hotel as of October 27, 2010. The new name will be the Chapel Hill University Inn.
The Holiday Inn Chapel Hill as been a part of the Chapel Hill community for over 40 years. The hotel has been located on the corner of Fordham Blvd (15/501) and Ephesus Church Road across from Eastgate Shopping Center since 1962. It has been and will continue to be the town's only full-service affordable hotel.
While the new name may be the Chapel Hill University Inn, guests will still experience the same great service, the same affordable rates and the same friendly faces. The hotel will continue to be known as the “Home of the Sports Experience”, which showcases the winning traditions of UNC Athletics. The sports theme includes UNC memorabilia, jerseys, a dugout, ACC school banners and more!
The Chapel Hill University Inn will continue to provide the same guest amenities including; daily local shuttle service, free wireless internet, free phone calls, free gourmet coffee 24/7, business center, on-site fitness center or free access to Kinetix Health Club, guest laundry, outdoor pool, pet friendly rooms, courtyard area with gas grill and picnic area. The on-site restaurant and bar, Time-Out Sports Bar, which is locally owned by Eddie Williams will not be affected. Time-Out will continue to operate the meeting and banquet facilities at the hotel.
The Chapel Hill University Inn will also continue to offer the same special discounted rates for UNC Hospitals and University of North Carolina visitors. As well as discounts for; AAA members and seniors, advance purchase, state and federal government per-diem rates and long term stay rates. Package rates will still be available for business and leisure travelers including the Executive Traveler package, Escape to Chapel Hill, Triple Thrill Golf package and Breakfast of Champions package.
