Andreas Schuster Appointed Steigenberger COO
December 21, 2010 - On 1st March 2011 Andreas Schuster will become the Chief Operating Officer (COO), in charge of the operational management of Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts. He will therefore be responsible for the First Class, Deluxe and Grandhotel establishments at home and abroad. Schuster is currently the Vice President of Operations and Business Development with the Danubius Hotel Group.
In appointing Andreas Schuster (45), the Frankfurt-based Steigenberger Hotels AG has selected as their Chief Operating Officer a hotel expert with international experience. In his role as COO, Schuster will be responsible for the operation of 46 hotels in five countries, including flagship hotels such as the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof in Frankfurt, the Steigenberger Parkhotel in Düsseldorf and the Steigenberger Belvedère in Davos, Switzerland.
Andreas Schuster trained in Hotel Management, then worked in Switzerland before gaining experience in Austria, Bermuda and China. In 1996 he moved to Hungary where he took up the position of Director of Operations for the InterContinental, Budapest. In 1998 Schuster was appointed General Manager of the Forum Hotel in Vienna. This was followed by further management roles; first at the Corinthia Aquincum Hotel in Budapest and then at the Corinthia Alfa Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal.
In April 2005 he moved across to the Danubius Hotel Group, which is based in Budapest. Here, as Acting Group Director of Operations, Andreas Schuster initially took on responsibility for the 56 hotels operated by the company before being promoted after a year to the role of Vice-President of Operations and Business Development. Schuster is a board member of the Danubius Hotel Group subsidiary, SLKP, which also operates hotels.
