. January 26, 2011

WELCHES (Mt. Hood), OR - January 25, 2011 - The Resort at The Mountain (The Resort), a nature-inspired spa, golf and ski destination nestled on 243 acres, less than one hour east of Portland, extends an invitation to experience and explore the high-energy, rejuvenating and healing powers of raw living at the Explore Raw Vitality wellness workshop March 18-19, 2011.

“This event is the start of something fresh and new at The Resort,” said Frank Casarez, general manager of The Resort. “We're confident the information will be pertinent, helpful and educational for those who participate.”

Explore Raw Vitality is perfect for those who are seeking a healthier life and desire to learn more about the benefits of a raw diet, as well as for those who already practice the lifestyle. The weekend retreat will encourage participants to add zest, inspiration and grace to their lives, while also exploring their own true nature, naturally. The retreat will feature informative breakout sessions and demonstrations focusing on natural health options including meals prepared by Agnieszka Zoltowski of The New Leaf Catering and Shanti Moon of Nourishing Elements; keynote presentations by Dave the Raw Trucker and Thomas and Gabrielle Chavez of Compass of Grace; sound healing and music by Kendra Carpenter; juice cleansing seminars with Penni Shelton, and much more.

“It's our goal to provide resources for our guests so they may live an empowered life,” said Joan Southon, spa director of The Resort. “Raw living is such an enlightening way to reconnect with the sources of nature around us, while also living a healthy and vibrant life.”

The raw lifestyle is a journey toward natural and optimal wellness. Participants will leave with an in-depth understanding of the components of raw living, including capitalizing on the benefits of various proteins, vitamins, minerals and enzymes, and how they can live a healthier life physically, spiritually and mentally.

Throughout the weekend, participants will have the opportunity to learn from and speak to experts as they share ideas and inspiration for living a successful and fulfilling raw lifestyle. In addition, participants will have access to The Spa and holistic treatments including acupuncture, reflexology, Reiki and naturopathic consultations.

The Explore Raw Vitality wellness workshop begins Friday, March 18 at 2 p.m. and ends Saturday, March 19 at 5 p.m. The cost is $199 per person for early registration by Feb. 19, 2011 or $259 thereafter. Nourishing raw gourmet meals are included. The Resort is offering overnight accommodations for $89 per room, subject to availability.
