Hyatt Regency Tamaya Hires New Associate DoS

February 16, 2011 - The Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, located between Santa Fe and Albuquerque in New Mexico, has hired Mary Dean Smith as its new associate director of sales. Smith will oversee the efforts of the sales group team, represent the resort to Texas and New Mexico markets, and will manage large corporate, meeting, and conference groups staying at the property. She joins the Hyatt Regency Tamaya from Heritage Hotel & Resort's Hotel Albuquerque where she was sales manager.

Smith also worked as sales manager at the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown for more than 8 years. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of Houston's Hilton College.

Smith has been an active member of the New Mexico Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI-NM) for more than 10 years serving as president of the organization between 2002 and 2003. In addition, she received her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification in 2008.
