IHG Appoints Chris Moloney COO, South West Asia
March 3, 2011 - March 3, 2011 - InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) [LON: IHG, NYSE:IHG (ADRs)]), the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms, announces the appointment of Chris Moloney as Chief Operating Officer, South West Asia.
Chris will spearhead IHG's operations in India, and will play a significant role in building the development pipeline, which currently stands at 45 hotels.
In his new role, Chris will be instrumental in strengthening IHG's portfolio of hotels which include the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and the recently launched Holiday Inn Express brand. IHG currently operates 12 hotels in key cities and is setting its sights for 150 hotels by 2020.
An IHG veteran, Chris has over 30 years of hospitality experience, having worked in various countries including France, USA, UK, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Egypt in different positions. Most recently, Chris served as the Chief Executive Officer of IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan, a joint venture between IHG and ANA (All Nippon Airways).

Chris began his career in the hospitality industry in 1979 and he joined IHG in 1983. He brings a rich cross-functional experience with him, having worked with IHG across an array of key operational areas including information systems, food & beverage, development and a string of managerial positions across regions. Prior to his previous position in Japan, Chris was the Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East & Africa region of IHG.
Chris earned his degree from the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Switzerland. Besides being an excellent golfer, Chris is also an ardent tennis player.
