Philadelphia Marriott West Completes Multi-million Dollar Renovation to Public Spaces
Philadelphia, PA - June 24, 2011 - The 289-room Philadelphia Marriott West has completed a multi-million dollar renovation to the hotel's public spaces, including the lobby, business center, ballroom and event and meeting rooms.
According to General Manager Mike Rodden, the overall renovation goal was to incorporate Marriott's latest signature design elements into the hotel by providing guests with more places to relax, work, and dine.
When guests enter the hotel they will immediately notice the inviting lobby, which features new floors, front desk area, lighting, and artwork. Flexible seating options range from communal tables with power and Internet access, to comfortable couches and chairs for relaxing and watching the game on the flat screen TVs, and dining height tables perfect for working or grabbing a bite to eat.
A signature element of the new lobby is the exclusive GoBoard® touch screens which provide information on the local area, restaurants, attractions, weather, news, business and sports, all at the touch of a finger. The guest restrooms in the lobby have also been completely remodeled.
The hotel offers over 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, including the 4,840 sq. ft. Grand Ballroom. All have been completely updated with new flooring, doors, lighting, furniture, electrical systems, flat screen electronic reader boards, televisions and sound systems.
The Business Center has been completely renovated and expanded to offer three work station, areas for laptop hook up and a computer for printing boarding passes.
The area in front of the hotel's restaurant, Shula's 347 Grill has also been expanded to provide attractive and comfortable seating with couches, work tables and an intimate dining table for two.
