Delta Hotels Appoints CFO and Three New GMs in BC and Ontario
Delta Hotels and Resorts announces the appointment of Chief Financial Officer, a newly reinstated position to the company's executive leadership team at its corporate head office in Toronto, as well as the appointment of three General Managers to its properties in British Columbia and Ontario.
Dino DiVito has been appointed to Chief Financial Officer of Delta Hotels and Resorts where he will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance and stewardship in all of Delta's strategic, operational and financial objectives. DiVito is a consummate professional with over 21 years of experience in the real estate, financial, construction and leisure travel industries. He most recently held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at the Great Gulf Group. His experience also includes a roster of highly regarded companies including PenEquity Management Corporation, Imark Corporation and North American Leisure Group.
Peter Gillis has been appointed General Manager of Delta Ottawa City Centre, where he will oversee the transition of the hotel as it undergoes an extensive $25 million redevelopment. Gillis is a seasoned hotelier with over 19 years of experience, most of which he spent in progressive leadership positions within the Delta brand. This includes his most recent position as General Manager of Delta Vancouver Suites, where the hotel was awarded two Delta Hotel Awards for the “Most Improved Financial Performance” and “Hotel of the Year” under his leadership. Gillis started with Delta as an Outlets Manager at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis in 1992, and assumed increasing responsibility in locations across Canada including the position of General Manager at the Delta managed Tantalus Resort Lodge in Whistler, BC.
Peter Catarino will replace Gillis as the new General Manager of Delta Vancouver Suites. Catarino has over 23 years of experience. Most of his experience was spent in progressive leadership positions within the Delta brand including his most recent position as General Manager of Delta Whistler Village Suites, where he oversaw the hotel's operations during the 2010 Winter Olympics. Catarino started with Delta as an Assistant Front Office Manager at Delta Toronto East, and assumed increasing responsibility that included opening the Residences at Delta Sun Peaks. Catarino is an active member of the Whistler Hotel Association as one of the founders and current Chair of the committee.
Jeff Waters returns to Delta as the new General Manager of Delta Toronto Airport West. He is a consummate professional with over 27 years of experience. Waters was most recently General Manger of the Marriott Toronto Airport Hotel, where he oversaw hotel operations through extensive renovations. Prior to that, Waters was General Manager of Delta Toronto Airport hotel, and continued to manage the hotel through its renovation and repositioning under the Renaissance brand. Waters has also held leadership and finance roles within Delta including Delta London Armouries Hotel, the Delta managed Tantalus Resort Lodge, Delta Ottawa Hotel & Suites and Delta Bessborough. Waters remains an active member of the Greater Toronto Hotel Association, Tourism Toronto and Mississauga Tourism
