Matthew Felling Appointed GM Embassy Suites St. Louis - Downtown

Friday, August 19, 2011 - August 19, 2011 - Hilton Worldwide today announced the appointment of Matthew Felling as general manager of the new Embassy Suites St. Louis - Downtown scheduled for completion in the fall. The 212 all-suite hotel is located in the historic Laurel Building and will serve the growing demand of business and leisure travelers gravitating to the historic downtown area. In his new role, Felling will oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel and report directly to Hilton Worldwide Area Vice President Thomas J. Loughlin.

“Matt has an outstanding track record at Hilton managing hotel operations across our brand spectrum,” said Loughlin. “He brings with him a strong knowledge of the St. Louis market and will be a valuable asset to ensuring the Embassy Suites hotel is successful as a new focal point of the exciting transformation taking place in Downtown St. Louis. Felling has been part of the Hilton Worldwide family for more than 29 years holding various positions with DoubleTree by Hilton hotels. Most recently, he held the position of complex general manager at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Conference Center St. Louis. Felling has also served as the general manager of DoubleTree by Hilton hotels in Colorado Springs, Durango and Indianapolis. During his illustrious career Felling successfully completed renovation projects, improved brand promise rankings and surpassed profit objectives. In 2010, he served on the board of directors of the St. Louis Hotel Association and the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce.

Embassy Suites St. Louis - Downtown will become the first major facility to open in the new Mercantile Exchange District comprised of more than one million total square feet of residential, retail and commercial space. The property is ideally located in close proximity to many area attractions including the Gateway Arch, Edward Jones Dome and Busch Stadium.
