New York, NY- August 25, 2011 - Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode, co-owners and developers of the acclaimed Bowery Hotel are pleased to announce the appointment of Kirk Wilson as the new general manager of the Lower East Side property.

For the past year, Wilson has served as the Food & Beverage Director, overseeing daily operations of the restaurant, hotel lobby and special events. Developing a unique managerial skill set, Wilson will now shift into a leading role at the established property, overseeing guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, revenue generation, and project management.

“I've had such a positive experience working with Sean over the years and with hotel staff over the past 15 months. I look forward to starting a new chapter here, furthering The Bowery Hotel's classic reputation as one of New York City's finest properties,” said Wilson.

Wilson began his tenure with the hotel as general manager of Gemma, the Italian trattoria adjacent to the hotel, overseeing daily operations before transitioning into his latest role as Food & Beverage Director.

Enjoying the perks of a bicoastal career, Wilson has developed the unique ability to identify with both east and west coast hospitality trends. Beginning his trade in New York, Wilson ran the once-celebrated Rialto in Nolita before relocating to Los Angeles to oversee restaurant operations for MacPherson at Jones in West Hollywood.

“Kirk has been instrumental in the continued success of The Bowery Hotel. He has a remarkable, comprehensive hospitality background,” said Sean MacPherson, co-owner and developer of The Bowery, The Jane and The Maritime hotels. “After working with Kirk for several years, he continues to prove his dedication to this industry, and now fully to the success of this property.”

Originally from North Carolina, where he received his BFA in Theater from East Carolina University, Wilson enjoys travel, art and fine wine. He now resides in New York City.
