The Waldorf=Astoria Honored with Hilton Worldwide's Prestigous Connie Award

Recognized For Continued Commitment to Guest Satisfaction

. September 01, 2011

NEW YORK, NY - August 31, 2011 - Hilton Worldwide recently presented its prestigious Connie Award, the company's highest honor, to The Waldorf=Astoria during the LUXCON Hilton luxury brand conference held at The Roosevelt New Orleans, a Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Accepted by General Manager Eric O. Long, the award recognizes the hotel's achievement of an impressive 93 percent Brand Standards Score in Quality Assurance (QA) for 2010.

The Connie Award is named for Hilton Worldwide's founder, Conrad Hilton, and given annually to the hotel in each brand with the overall highest guest satisfaction performance as measured by Service and Loyalty Tracking (SALT) and guest satisfaction surveys, performance in QA evaluations and improvement in key SALT indicators.

“The Waldorf=Astoria is synonymous with world-class quality and service, and the hotel's dedicated team is the driving force behind its continued success,” said John Vanderslice, global head of luxury and lifestyle brands for Hilton Worldwide. “They continuously maintain and elevate its landmark stature to remain at the forefront of luxury hotels.”

Recent hotel enhancements include an ambitious $200 million, decade-long renovation, fully restoring the Art Deco decor of the grand public spaces. In addition, a multi-million dollar restoration of the hotel's signature restaurants, Bull & Bear and Peacock Alley, and integral improvements to conference and event capabilities highlight a commitment to meeting the needs of The Waldorf=Astoria's discerning guests.
