Hotel Cipriani Unveils Its New Dogaressa Suite

. October 14, 2008

VENICE, Italy, July 22, 2005. The legendary Hotel Cipriani, renowned for being a veritable oasis in the heart of Venice, has created the Dogaressa Suite in the Palazzo Vendramin annex. It is a room fit for a Queen, with a classic vista of the basin of San Marco, captured like a Canaletto painting and framed in floor-to-ceiling gothic windows.

The 120m^2 Dogaressa Suite offers the largest sitting room in the Palazzo Vendramin. It is furnished with antique Chinese lamps and beautiful Rubelli silk fabrics. One of the most unique features of the suite is the 18th century Coromandel screens that have been painstakingly restored to their original decorative splendor. The airy bedroom overlooks peaceful gardens, with a spacious corridor leading to an elegant pink marble bathroom.

"We wanted to create a suite that reflected the Venetian history and exclusive location of the Palazzo Vendramin" said Dr Rusconi, managing director of Hotel Cipriani. "The Dogaressa Suite, named after the First Lady of the Republic of Venice, is a fitting name, as it is possible to see the Palazzo Ducale lit up at night from the comfort of your sitting room.7 With the suite's unique features and picturesque views, we wanted to encapsulate the magic of Venice in the utmost luxury and seclusion."

The 15th century annex of the Palazzo Vendramin, decorated in the traditional Fortuny style, has two junior suites and six suites, some with private terraces or gardens. It is adjacent to the Hotel Cipriani, which is accessible by foot through the fragrant gardens. A butler is available to provide personalized service to guests, offering breakfast, afternoon tea and refreshments. The Dogaressa Suite is priced from EUR2500/ $3010* per night and includes accommodation, full American breakfast and taxes.

The Hotel Cipriani is also offering a series of packages throughout 2005 that combine the romance, cuisine, health and Casanova Spa facilities of the hotel. Also on offer in October are Botanical and Flower Painting master classes and Bridge classes.
