GM of Oakwood Premier Guangzhou to Lead Pre-opening Team
Edward Lim prepares for the opening of Oakwood's first luxury brand in China in second quarter 2012
February 6, 2012 - Oakwood Asia Pacific announces the appointment of Edward Lim as general manager of the luxury serviced residences, Oakwood Premier Guangzhou, opening in Guangdong, China in the second quarter of 2012.
Edward comes from a highly-successful stint in the same position at Oakwood Gold Arch Residence Guangzhou, the first property of Oakwood in Guangzhou and also the city's first internationally-managed serviced apartments.
Edward has been with the company for more than 11 years. Prior to achieving excellence in management and operations, he was financial controller at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, holding positions in Beijing and Shenzhen. This was precluded by assignments for Hilton and Westin Toronto (Canada), and a four-year stint in real estate development and construction, also in Toronto.
Edward is a Canadian citizen with outstanding academic achievements. He holds a Diploma in Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Management from Fanshawe College, London, Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario. He is also a member of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA).
Edward's role as general manager of Oakwood Premier Guangzhou has enabled him to initiate the strategic direction of Oakwood Asia Pacific's business development in Guangzhou and other key cities in China, spearheading groundbreaking talks with potential partners from leading real estate developers and institutional investors.
