Toronto, ON - October 5, 2012 - Fresh on the heels of launching the new food philosophy, Food. Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Served., Executive Chef Joan Monfaredi has recently created her new line: Harvest Comforts. The Fall launch features three offerings: Harvest Comforts Spa being sold exclusively at the Stillwater Spa Boutique, the JarBar - available to guests dining in Annona Restaurant and the Tapas options available at the Roof Lounge. Harvest Comforts is a celebration of seasonal ingredients, Fall flavors and comfort foods.
Harvest Comforts Spa includes Gluten Free treats such as Peanut Butter White Chocolate & Pecan Cookies, Almond Biscotti Double Chocolate Chip Cookies, Ontario Blue Plum Preserves and Boobie {Cake} Pops. A portion of the proceeds from each item in the spa line will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation during the month of October.
As the brisk Autumn air sets in, our palettes crave hearty soups and comfort foods which defines the concept of the new JarBar. Guests can enjoy the Harvest Comfort Lunch options which include the Chicken Matzah Ball Soup, Chicken Liver Pate, Rustic Veal, Ham and Mushroom Terrine. The new Harvest Comforts Prix Fixe Lunch Menu being introduced includes Soup of the day, Chef Inspired Sandwich, featured dessert jar and hot beverage for $22.00. Dessert options from the JarBar includes Warm Apple Walnut Crumble served with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and Caramel Sauce, Plum and Almond Semi Freddo with White Chocolate Shavings and Candied Orange Peel, Pumpkin Pie with Gingerbread Chunks, Whipped Cream and Caramel Sauce. All petit persuasion desserts are served in a jar.
“Harvest Comforts is simply a blend of the tastes and flavours we love about the Fall season”, says Executive Chef Joan Monfaredi. “We have created these menu options as a culinary celebration of food that's local and in season, while teasing the senses with the sights of the Chef station at the JarBar and the aroma and taste of Fall. Additionally, being in a position to support a cause that is near and dear to me through my passion - cooking, completes the circle”.
The Harvest Comforts Roof Lounge Menu features Pate, Chili, Soups and includes desserts such as the Dark Chocolate, PB&Jam Mousse with Sea Salt and Caramelized Peanuts.
